RESEARCH INVESTIGATOR II

The successful candidate will join a team of Ph.
D.
Bioinformatics software developer scientists whose primary roles are hands on data integration of genomics data, analysis and visualization of diverse biological and chemical data sets.
This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining workflows and pipelines for the analysis of various NGS data types and proteomics data.
This role requires direct involvement in the design and implementation of new platforms, tools and analytic methods and leveraging the resources within the group to address the needs listed above.
Qualifications M.
S.
and 3+ years of experience or a Ph.
D and 1+ year of experience in the fields of Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics or related disciplines is required.
Proven track record of developing bioinformatics tools and working experience of common bioinformatics data analysis and next generation sequencing (NGS QC, chip sequencing, variant calling, RNAseq) Extensive experience authoring software in one or more server side programming languages (Perl, Python, Java, C++, etc.
) is required.
Intimate knowledge of Linux or Unix is essential.
Good communication skills are critical.
Knowledge of dynamic web programming (Javascript) and service oriented design is a plus.
Knowledge of relational database systems (Oracle, Postgresql, Mysql) and statistically oriented languages (R, Matlab) is highly desirable.
Previous experience in one of the following disease biology areas is desirable:
oncology, immunology, immune-oncology, heart failure, fibrosis or genetic diseases.
A solid understanding of biological systems and the drug development process is desirable.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
