Scientist - Biomarker Discovery

SCIENTIST BIOMARKER DISCOVERY
HOPEWELL, NJ

Project Description:
Perform in vitro experiments for biomarker analysis with the goal of discovering drugs for the treatment of fibrosis. Responsibilities will include:

  • The successful candidate will be an integral part of a highly productive in vitro team within the Department of Cardiovascular and Fibrosis Discovery Biology focused on discovering agents to treat fibrosis.

  • Responsibilities will include: plasma and tissue sample processing and measurement of biomarkers such as cytokines, hormones, and proteins involved in relevant signal transduction pathways.

  • The ability to integrate knowledge from peers, supervisor, and the literature and apply this to successful assay development is very important.

  • The candidate will be responsible for analyzing and communicating the resulting data to the supervisor and larger research group.


Required Skills:

  • Must have a deep understanding and experience with ELISA assays.

  • An understanding of multiplex cytokine assays, MSD assay platform, hydroxyproline assay and flow cytometry assay with a proven track record of research is important and highly desirable.

  • Furthermore, experience with ex vivo tissue isolation, tissue culture and sample processing and analysis is desirable.

  • Data recording and processing (Excel and graphic tools), and appropriate statistical background is required.

  • Good analytical and communication skills required. Ability to work well within a team and across functions is essential.

  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology or related field.

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience after degree.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
